  1. The hammond shields dont build ult charge or heal briggs passive so be agressive when you hace them on and let the brigg use her abilities un you whe you at least have 200hp so she has the on cooldown and deal her some damage she cannot heal, for roadhog mcree any other chara with cc high shields in ebemy team ~=1or 2seconds distracción and high shields with them alone is cool since you put their ccs un cooldown and they dont build ult pretty much the only cc chara you can engage with low shields is brigg since you want to make her loose heal passive + lost cooldowns. and you can avoid her staying at midrange with ball tthen shooting. For other heros beware of zen orb and sombra hack you can avoid if you get un ball hook fast enough the only hard counter is mei ,just try to avoid her or attack her from the back and disengage fast ,, pile drive her in the back or boop her and run and if she is gonna freeze you fast just stay in ball if she is slow shields and ball if she is in a group avoid her completly and go for flankers or isolated heros or boop the tanks and be annoying and try to stay out of her sight .The other stuff you need to know is basically common knoledge of the other heros play style and winconditions and how to combo your own abilities.

  2. Pro tips ? That gameplay is not that good and sometimes you're just proved wrong (13:50 "the enemy is not gonna be able to move through there" while a rein and a reaper reach the payload is quite funny actually, but those f***ing mines tend to stick to thin air when you least expect it, so I wouldn't blame you there ^^). I think you develop quite well what i would call the basics, though.
The 1st tip when willing to get better at Hammond, imho, is learning how to pile-drive without using his grappling hook, by using terrain or even taking height from using any wall (it's tricky to do at first, you want to jump as soon as you hit a wall, giving you enough height to pile-drive).
You should also consider pressing E before pile driving, while above their head, in certain cases.
Learning the right spots and mechanics not to follow your target down the cliff when you do those sweet environmental kills is cool too.
And so much other stuff. Help your Mercy get off from spawn faster, peel (one of the best), scout if you can, use Maj to reload, go get that Widow, pile-drive that Brig, displace that Rein, bodyblock your sleeping healer or the corridor entrance to a health pack for an opposing tracer, don't use your ult too high up in the air or it'll be too spread, etc… you'll be all over the map anyway. The real power of Hammond is Cuteness Overload in their faces !

No. Not smart. This seems like a good plan, but the mines spread out the further you are in the air when you activate them, making them considerably less lethal.

  6. I’m high plat (2850 sr) and I used my mines as Hammond to trap a rein and a brig in a small room while we destroyed their team 6v4. From the good Hammond players, would you say that this is a good ult?

  7. 52 hours on Hammond climbed 500 sr with him last season. The key to Hammond is mastering his mobility and then he's a straight up carry hero. His boop potential and point control are insane and his weapons are underrated.

One thing that should be mentioned here is that enemies do not get ult charge off you when shooting your shield and barriers will block you from getting shield charge, so make sure you position yourself to get the biggest shield after a pile drive if a barrier is blocking you. My general engage: swing, position above healers, pile drive, slight roll to position for big shield if needed, E, shoot head of the lowest health target as they fall to the ground and finish with mele. This is usually enough to get a good pick. You will probably be cc'd after this but if your shield was big enough you will have enough time to swing out alive.

Use your mobility to control the map and health packs. Hammond plays ALL over the map. Cover big area and use the map to your advantage. I give my healers the opportunity to get ult charge from healing me when I can but Hammond has such a large health pool it can take up a lot of resource for your healers, so using your mobility to control big health packs not only allows you to get back in the fight quicker but it allows your healers to put their resource into the rest of your team who need them more than you do, or use aggressive resource such as anti nade or Moira dmg orb.

You don't always need to swing into air pile drive, you can do quick max speed ground rolls and knock everyone around like bowling pins. Be disruptive and aggressive as hell. If they're running goats you can fuck up their whole formation. When holding payloads swinging around it is useful but that shouldn't be your only technique when holding a payload. Roll up onto it, jump off and pile drive, get big shields and swing around payload some more. Be unpredictable and aggressive. You can totally screw with people's heads as Hammond. Swing in to make them think you're engaging and then just swing back and engage on the second swing forward (they will usually blow cooldowns on your fake engage) or pile drive and immediately dip out then re engage with a swing from behind.

You can commit with your weapons more than you think with Hammond, you just have to get good shields and/or good positioning. Try to mow down primary targets and knock them out of position so you can finish them off before the whole team can jump on you. His weapons biggest weakness is the clip size so only shoot when your cross hairs are over the target. You want to reserve your ammo cause once your clip is out you have to dip. Never get caught reloading as Hammond; too long a reload for a giant ball to be standing there open to enemy fire.

  8. My best tip is to just roll through them at high speeds and hit as many of them as you can and go get a mega back in there side of the field, and keep repeating, you’ll get ult so fast and the enemy team won’t be able to kill you, they will be super out of position, they will be uncoordinated, and super tilted that they can’t kill you

  10. I climbed from silver to plat in a few days with Hammond. If you are good he’ll carry more often then not in the lower ranks. Diamond has way more sombras and meis.

  12. looking at the way all the pros play hammond, i feel a little bad, cuz, nothing to flaunt, but i think i have pretty nutty gameplay with hammond. my tracking is not the best, but mobility? i can reach anywhere with him. but the issue with him is, in below platinum, people cant take advantage of what hammond brings into the team. hence i m forced to make space ofc, get 1 or maybe 2 picks and then scooot off asap. even then people cant follow up. whats more worse is, the healers cant keep up with me. hence i have to run back and forth a lot. so i swap off to something like zarya where i can cover the stupidity of my team with my bubbles.

  20. hamster is extremely underrated at all ranks, but especially the lower tier ranks.

the fact that he can slam in, boop everyone up, pop his shield and roll away is extremely powerful.

unless a team is using coms and call outs, they're screwed, sort of how monkey can disrupt an uncoordinated team. if zen and ana arent in chat, they're gonna die. if half the team chases the ball around, they're screwed. he may not be the strongest off tank as far as utility and dps, but the fact that he can literally distract people from playing them game….thats massive
